Hector Children’s Academy

From November 2025, the Hector Children’s Academy in Bietigheim-Bissingen will have a new location at the primary school in Buch. The academy is sponsored by the town of Bietigheim-Bissingen.

The Hector Children’s Academies support particularly gifted primary school children in Baden-Württemberg. In addition to their normal lessons, they attend courses that have been developed especially for them. The focus is on mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology. This enables the children to develop their strengths, learn new things and unleash their creativity.

What does the Hektor Children’s Academy offer?

  • Independence: The activities encourage independent and exploratory work.

  • Social skills: Children learn together and develop important social skills.

  • Challenge: Academies create intellectual and social incentives and bring gifted children together.

  • Quality: All offers are regularly monitored and reviewed by scientists.

Children can only participate if they are nominated by their class teacher. Registration is only valid once the teacher has confirmed the nomination. Once nominated, children can participate until the end of Year 4.

If your child has been recommended by teachers at a school in the Ludwigsburg school district to participate in the additional programmes offered by the Hector Children’s Academy, you and your child can choose up to three courses from the range of courses offered by the Hector Children’s Academies in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Hemmingen, Ludwigsburg or Marbach.

You can select and pre-book the courses online with your child for two weeks from the end of January or the end of September/beginning of October. You may ‘pre-book’ a maximum of three courses online by the specified date. The class teacher must confirm this booking in the course portal. Without this confirmation, your child is not registered.
